Our Vision
MASA’s vision is to build more than a park. We want to create a space that brings people together, inspires lifelong passion for action sports and community, and goes beyond Morton because we are in a skate park desert.
Good for the Community
A skatepark is essential for Morton — it creates a safe, inclusive space where people of all ages can stay active, progress, and strengthen our community.
Good for the Town
A well-designed, unique park attracts visitors from surrounding areas, drawing tourists and "skate-tourism" to small-town businesses.
Good for Your Health
Sports like skateboarding and rollerblading provide a great physical workout. They also act as a mental health outlet, reducing boredom, stress, and anxiety.

Megan Petersen found rollerblading at a pivotal moment in her life, using the sport as a path toward healing and community connection. Her passion for skating grew into a lifelong commitment to supporting and uplifting others, especially women in action sports. Megan co-founded The Bladies, a global community for female skaters, and has since partnered with leading skate brands to create skates specifically designed for women. With deep roots in the rollerblading world and a vision for inclusive spaces, Megan is now focused on helping communities—like ours—build skateparks where everyone can discover the joy, growth, and belonging that skating provides. goes here

A lifelong Washingtonian, Sara loves being in east Lewis County, and her desire to foster an open and inclusive rural community is what led her to be part of MASA.
MASA’s ultimate dream is to build a skate park right here in Morton. This project is so much more than just a place to skate; it's about building community. A skate park will be a safe, accessible, and inclusive hub for youth and adults, offering a much-needed outlet for fun and a place for social gatherings. It's a concrete step towards making Sara’s vision for Morton a reality: a rural community where everyone can find their niche and feel like they belong.
Building Community
MASA will be teaming up with Grindline Skateparks to build Morton’s Action Park.
Grindline Skateparks is a full service design/build company at the forefront of evolving the art and science of concrete skateparks.
